Relevant facts

Festança is made by and for the benefit of the community, and this brings immense challenges that make us want to cooperate and relate! That is why we need to reward the pleasurable work of the entire team and artists, and to have funds to create the infrastructure that follow Festança’s ecological philosophy.

Yes! Actions are more important than words, and that is why Festança has a great social responsibility, especially in the community where it operates. That’s the community and cooperative spirit!

For those reasons, 1% of the revenue of Festaça ticket sales goes to the Forestlings project, which takes place in Amarante, a place that is very close to Ancede, and which needs our help to become a settled reality!

In short, Forestlings is a learning community offering family friendly educational activities and events.

Within their family farm, they are developing the forest and creating a child focused learning space where they will open a forest school for children aged 2 to 6, aswell as offering activities to homeschooled children aged 6 to 12.

Alongside this, they host a variety of educational activities and events for children and families. Covering a range of topics towards a more sustainable lifestyle for the individual, the community and the planet.

Let’s help Forestlings become a settled reality!

More information about Forestlings here.

We are a self-sufficient festival, and because of that, we do not want to depend on monetary support that does not follow the philosophy of the festival, nor that forces us to be dependent in any way. Thus, only by building a solid base, edition after edition, we will be able to manage our own self-financing sustainability to organise Festança.

The festival has a strong sense of supporting what is local and ecological, and for us that is the only way we will contribute to a dynamic that does not finance the corporate and monopolising entities that dominate the economy not only in Portugal, but throughout the world.

Yes, inside Festança’s venue fit around 6000 “rooters” (this is the term for those who come to the festival, and which portrays someone who is enthusiastic and supportive, and who at the same time is connected to the earth to create roots!)

Yes, there are specific tickets for children up to 12 years old. Although admission for children up to 12 years of age is free, you will have to buy this free ticket to register your children. This is necessary for security reasons.
